Airline seating capacity down at SFO

SAN FRANCISCO

USA Today compared domestic seating capacity of March 2008 with flights scheduled for March 2009.

In Oakland capacity is down by 28%. In San Jose it is down nearly 11%. At SFO, it is down 2.7%.

This matters to the public because competition brings prices down. So, depending on destination, the areas where airports once had price advantages over other airports may have changed.

Consumers looking for the best price should check the cost of flights of all three airports.
