San Jose resident Thalia Hsiung was walking west across Lundy Avenue at Rosebriar Way in a crosswalk around 6:20 p.m. when the collision occurred, police said.
Anita Jaimsonblanks, a 62-year-old San Jose resident, was driving a 2000 Mercury Sable south on Lundy Avenue when she struck Hsiung.
Hsiung was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died.
Investigators do not believe alcohol, drugs or speed were factors in the crash, police Officer Jermaine Thomas said.
