Street vendor attacked near school

REDWOOD CITY, CA

Around 2:30 p.m., the suspect approached the vendor and punched him in the face near Hoover Elementary School on Charter Street, Redwood City police Detective Jeff Price said.

The suspect then allegedly threw the vendor to the ground and took $130 from him, Price said.

The vendor was transported to a local hospital. Price did not know the extent of the vendor's injuries.

The suspect is described as a Tongan man between 18 and 20 years old, about 6 feet tall and with a large frame. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants, Price said.
