Two employees of a Carl's Jr. restaurant were held at knifepoint during a robbery late Sunday night, Fairfield police said Monday.

Police said an employee of the restaurant at 2380 N. Texas St. stepped outside to have a cigarette around 10:20 p.m. As he was on his way back in, he was approached from behind by a male suspect.

The suspect pushed the employee inside the restaurant, drew a knife and demanded cash from a safe, police said. The suspect held the knife to the abdomen of another employee while the first employee retrieved the cash, police said.

The suspect, who was wearing black clothing and a black beanie, then fled out the rear door of the restaurant.

No one was injured in the robbery, police said.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact the Fairfield Police Department at (707) 428-7300 or Solano County Crime Stoppers at (707) 644-stop.

A reward of up to $1,000 has been offered for information leading to an arrest.
