More oversight for San Francisco pot clubs

SAN FRANCISCO

Officials say all 23 of the city's medical cannabis clubs now have city issued operating permits or are in the process of receiving them.

In 2005, the clubs were placed under city regulation. Since then, some clubs were rejected or went out of business.

To receive a permit the clubs must be wheelchair accessible and pay a $7,000 application fee.

The permit also gives the city greater control to monitor the clubs.
