The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicts rising sea levels and devastating long-term droughts over the next thousand years, even if all carbon emissions ended today.
The study projects dust bowl conditions in the southwestern United States, the Mediterranean, and South Africa, and a three-foot rise in sea levels by the year 3,000.
The authors also caution that the more time we take reducing emissions, the worse the consequences will be.
