Predator at Cal targets women in skirts

BERKELEY, CA

The first incident happened on September 14 at Piedmont Avenue and Dwight Way.

There have been five other attacks, all within blocks of each other late at night. There were three attacks over this past weekend in the neighborhood near Cal's Memorial Stadium.

Police say all the women wore skirts. The suspect approaches them from behind, lifts their skirts and tries to assault them. Then he runs off.

None of the women have been able to provide enough information for a composite sketch.

Witnesses to any of the incidents should call the Berkeley Police Department's sex crimes detail at (510) 981-5735 or 981-5734, Kusmiss said. People who want to remain anonymous can call Bay Area Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
