Thang Pham was awake around 3 a.m. and walking around the house he shares with his parents when he and his 73-year-old mother got into an argument.
"They had some type of argument (about) him being up at night," police Officer Jermaine Thomas said.
Pham allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed his mother, Thomas said. She was suffered injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Pham, who Thomas said has been treated for mental illness in the past, was arrested.
