Doctors at Henry Ford Hospital recently performed a relatively new surgery, in which they removed a tumor from a patient's kidney without removing the kidney itself.
The technique is so novel; surgeons used the social networking Web site /*Twitter*/ to give up-to-the-second updates. There was a doctor in the operating room just to send out the brief Twitter updates.
The goal was to help other doctors get a better understanding of the technique.
