Calvester Stanley

Cal, an Oakland Club alumnus, began his career in 1979 following 4 years of study in the American Humanics Program (AH) at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. AH-a national alliance of colleges, universities and nonprofit organizations preparing undergraduates for careers with youth and human service agencies-prepared Cal for an internship at the Stockton Club, Branch Director responsibilities at the Fresno, California Clubs, and to return home to Oakland as a Branch Director in 1981.

He was promoted to Assistant Executive Director in 1988 and to CPO in 1992. He has served B&GCA on many fronts including current roles with: the Association of Boys & Girls Clubs Professionals (National Board), the Constitutional Commission, and the National Diversity Council. As an Academy of Boys & Girls Clubs Professionals Distinguished Level member, Cal offers experience including board development, strategic planning, organizational development, and fund development.

Some of his many awards and achievements include: Trustee, Lions For Youth, Inc., Chairman, Exxon Program Institute, Pacific, The Thomas G. Garth Executive Leadership Program, Inaugural Class, and he has served on the National board of the Association of Boys & Girls Clubs Professionals.
