The man, whose name has not yet been released, was in his 40s and was found lying on the sidewalk at about 5 a.m. Monday, according to Sgt. Lyn Tomioka.
Tomioka said the man's body had no visible signs of trauma "or anything consistent with criminal activity," but that his death is still being considered suspicious.
The medical examiner's office said Monday morning investigators are still trying to locate the man's family.
