The $3.3 million project at 380 Bacon St. features a new, 6,300-square-foot building with an expanded book collection, public art displays, an expanded children's section and teen space, more computers and Wi-Fi access.

The library project was funded by a $105.9 million bond measure passed by voters in 2000.

The new branch opens to the public on Saturday. A ceremony with city officials, including Mayor Gavin Newsom, is planned for 1 p.m.
