Wendell Raveling, 74, parked his 2002 Toyota Sienna van in the 7700 block of state Highway 128 and walked down an embankment to the water's edge. He was found a few feet from the water at the lake near Monticello Dam, sheriff's Lt. Tracey Stuart said.

A sheriff's deputy saw the van around 5 p.m. checked the license plate and determined it belonged to a missing person, Stuart said.

An autopsy was conducted today and the results are pending toxicology tests, Stuart said. The cause of death is undetermined, Stuart said, but there were no apparent signs of trauma to Raveling's body, Stuart said.

The area is popularly known as "Party Point," Stuart said.

Fairfield police Lt. Bob Bunting said Raveling was last seen Saturday around between 3:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. when he left his home to visit an apartment complex he owned on Ohio Street.

His family reported him missing at 9:40 p.m. and Raveling's name and vehicle were entered in the missing persons system, Bunting said.

"There was no sign of foul play on the missing person end," Bunting said this afternoon.
