Eibhlin Byrne, Lord Mayor of Dublin, and her 11-member delegation of city officials and business representatives arrives in San Jose on Wednesday.
Byrne is expected to meet with San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed and take part in meetings intended to strengthen economic and cultural ties between the two cities, and between Ireland and Silicon Valley.
Public events include a flag-raising ceremony at City Hall on Friday morning, and a "Spirit of Ireland" award luncheon Sunday honoring T.J. Rodgers, founder and CEO of San Jose-based Cypress Semiconductor.
