Eduardo Gonzalez is charged with felony arson, first-degree burglary and grand theft, district attorney's office spokeswoman Amy Cornell said. Gonzalez faces up to 10 in prison if convicted, according to Cornell.

Gonzalez was arrested Thursday after the Wednesday afternoon fire caused an estimated $200,000 in structure damage and $40,000 of damage to contents in the home at 3121 Springfield Way, San Jose fire Capt. Steve Alvarado said.

San Jose police and fire officials are working together in the ongoing investigation.

Gonzalez appeared in court Monday afternoon for arraignment. He remains in custody on $250,000 bail and is scheduled to return for plea entry on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in Dept. 23 of Santa Clara County Superior Court, 190 W. Hedding St. in San Jose.
