"This group promised to save these people's house by temporary putting someone on the title and they would be able to get the house back in a couple of months," said Mike Valle, an attorney.
The attorney says the rescuers would then take out a new mortgage on the home, and pocket the equity.
He says they would then stop paying on the mortgage, and the home would end up back in foreclosure.
Neither Phillips or the Baltimore Ravens could be reached for comment.
