Concord man shot for not selling pot

The victim told police he had been walking on Salvio Street near Grant Street sometime before 9:30 p.m. when a man approached him and asked him if he sold marijuana.

The victim said he did not sell marijuana and the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim once in the arm, Lardieri said.

The victim ran away and flagged down a passing motorist, who drove him to the hospital, Lardieri said.

The suspect is believed to be a white man in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and blue jeans.

The victim is expected to survive his injuries.
