Driver hits mother, daughter selling cookies

Witnesses say around 3:30 p.m. Sunday the car struck the pair as they were sitting at a card table selling cookies in front of a Mollie Stone Supermarket on Burlingame Avenue.

Both mother and daughter were taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Witnesses told ABC7 the driver was an elderly man and said the incident appeared to be an accident. Witnesses also said a third person may have been hit by the car.

Police questioned one man for about two hours before taking him away in a police car. The man was not wearing handcuffs.
