CHP officer struck, but not seriously injured

A California Highway Patrol officer was injured Friday in Contra Costa County.

The officer was writing a ticket on the Highway 4 bypass at Laurel Road around 5:30 p.m. when he and his motorcycle were hit by a car.

The officer suffered a broken arm; the woman driving the car suffered non life-threatening injurues. Both were taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
