Pleasanton police said the boy admitted he drank alcohol the evening of March 5, and then, in the early morning hours of the following day, walked through a northeast Pleasanton neighborhood, puncturing the tires of 27 cars with a pocketknife.
Damage to the vehicles was estimated at $6,075.
The boy was arrested and booked into the Pleasanton Police Department, and later released to his parents for a pending date in juvenile court, according to police.
