"I'm drinking myself to death under a bridge. I'm watching my friends die left and right, so what have I got to lose. So to everybody that thinks I am being exploited, I ask you to think again," said Edwards.
So far, Edwards has received $50,000 in donations and he's getting treatment at a rehab center for free.
