A big rig was reported to have overturned at about 6:15 a.m. on the off-ramp from Highway 101 to Harney Road, according to CHP Officer Kevin Kroncke.
Kroncke said an ambulance had been requested at the scene of the crash, and that the off-ramp was temporarily closed.
San Francisco police said the crash involved a garbage truck on city streets, but did not have information on injuries or how long the off-ramp was expected to be closed.
