Veteran gets home renovated by non-profits

LIVERMORE, CA

Builders finished $40,000 worth of renovations to Sergeant Mariela Meylan's home in Livermore. The improvements make it much easier for her to do the things many of us take for granted, such as getting in and out of the shower.

"These were relatively simple things to do, but when you come into an existing home to do these things it gets complicated," Mike Conklin of the Sentinels of Freedom Scholarship Foundation said.

Local non-profits and construction companies combined to donate most of the materials and manpower for the project.
