Doyle Drive project gets $50M

The California Transportation Commission allocated $50 million to the project. The money is part of a new, $1.5 billion dollar allocation of stimulus money.

Doyle Drive is the main southern approach to the Golden Gate Bridge and is considered highly vulnerable to collapse in a major earthquake.

Officials say the state is now just $50 million short of the $1 billion cost of the project.
