Police release Half Moon Bay intruder sketch

Around 2 p.m. Monday, the girl heard a noise from her brother's room at their home in the 900 block of Colonel Way, police said.

She sent a text message to her brother, realized he was not home and called her father.

As she made the call, the suspect allegedly approached the girl, grabbed her hand and tried to pull her into her brother's room.

She pulled away, but fell down a flight of stairs. Family found her unconscious from the fall. She was taken to a hospital for a visible head injury and a complaint of pain, police said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man with short, black hair, about 6 feet tall, 25 to 30 years old with no facial hair, a scar on the right side of his nose and an earring in his right ear. He is said to have a gap between his two front teeth.
