Race organizers are trying to ban nudity and alcohol use this year, but they did back down on a plan to ban floats. Organizers will allow them, as long as they don't carry kegs of beer.

Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi is trying to find a compromise between residents who complain about noise and trash, and race fans who want to preserve the character of the event.
