Belmont holds E-Waste recycling event

The city of Belmont will sponsor an E-Waste Recycling event Saturday for residents who want to dispose of their unwanted electronic items.

Items that can be recycled include computers, monitors, cell phones, fax machines, TVs, printers and consumer electronics, according to event officials. There will also be a drop-off area for alkaline batteries, florescent tubes and car batteries.

Appliances, dishwashers, ranges, microwaves, washers, dryers and refrigerators will not be accepted, event officials said.

The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the City Hall parking lot at 1 Twin Pines Lane. For more information, visit www.belmont.gov/earthday.
