The tribute "Work Out of the Day" event will be held in honor of Sgts. /*Mark Dunakin*/, /*Ervin Romans*/, /*Daniel Sakai*/ and Officer /*John Hege*/. Police said they were killed by 26-year-old Oakland resident /*Lovelle Mixon*/, an ex-felon who was wanted on a no-bail warrant for allegedly violating his parole by failing to meet with his parole officer.
The Police Department is encouraging participants to make a donation of at least $10 to the families of the four officers.
The event will take place at 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. at the CrossFit Solano facility, which is owned and operated by Vallejo Police Department officers and located in Suite 11 at 1128 Western St.
