$50,000 reward offered in 2007 murder

Gary Jones, a 37-year-old San Leandro man, was fatally shot while purchasing gas at the ABE Gasoline Station at East Lewelling and Mission boulevards around 4 p.m. on June 28, 2007. Jones had just left a cannabis club with marijuana he had legally obtained, investigators said at the time.

Witnesses told police that two men in a mini van shot and killed Jones and then fled the area after taking Jones' marijuana, according to investigators.

Schwarzenegger announced Monday five rewards for unsolved murder cases in California, including a $50,000 reward for information in connection with the fatal shooting of a San Jose storeowner in May of last year.

Vahid Hosseini, 47, was shot as he was leaving a Bank of the West branch at 1010 First St. in San Jose May 23, 2008. Hosseini, who owned the popular Willow Market with his wife for 25 years, died 10 days later.
