Study: link between diabetes and dementia

A new study from Kaiser Permanente in Oakland is a reminder for older patients with Type Two Diabetes to keep their blood sugar levels balanced.

Researchers have found a link between low blood sugar and an increased risk of developing dementia.

The study says just one trip to the hospital for low blood sugar raised the risk 26 percent; three or more hospital visits raised the risk 94 percent.
