The Red Cross is finding housing for the lone female occupant of the approximately 2,100-square-foot home at 3151 Mount Veeder Road in the wooded hills west of Yountville, Petersen said. No injuries were reported and the cause and point of origin of the fire are still under investigation, he said.

Approximately 50 firefighters responded to the fire reported around 5:20 a.m. and the house was fully involved in flames when the first firefighters arrived, Petersen said.

Initial reports indicated the home was likely a total loss.

The blazes were contained in about an hour, Petersen said. Fire investigators were at the scene and firefighters were cleaning up late this morning, Petersen said. PG&E has secured downed power lines at the site.

Firefighters from Napa, American Canyon, St. Helena and Cal Fire-Napa County Fire Department responded.
