Sig-alert canceled for Hwy 238 crash

The crash was reported at about 5:25 a.m. on northbound Highway 238 just south of the flyover in between San Leandro and Hayward. It involved four vehicles, one of which overturned onto its roof, according to CHP Officer Kevin Kroncke.

All northbound lanes were shut down for more than an hour, and big rigs were allowed to travel on Interstate Highway 580 during the closure, Kroncke said.

A Sig-alert was issued at 5:45 a.m., according to CHP Officer Aaron Quistad, who said it was canceled at about 6:35 a.m. when the lanes were reopened.
