Muni may declare fiscal emergency

The move would allow Muni to bypass the standard review process required to increase fares and cut service.

Muni faces a projected budget deficit of more than $128 million for the coming fiscal year.

The agency is considering raising fares by 50 cents, ending free transers and increasing prices at parking meters.

Also, some Muni workers may be forced to take one day off a month without pay.
