East Bay high-speed chase ends in crash

Authorities in the East Bay are investigating an apparent carjacking that ended in a horrific crash late Wednesday night.

The car crashed in Hercules after exiting I-80 at Willow Avenue around 11pm. The car was being chased by police.

Investigators say it began when four suspects attacked a woman and stole her 2006 silver Pontiac at a Mexican restaurant in Fairfield.

A Solano County sheriff's deputy spotted the car in Vallejo a short time later and started the chase. Two suspects, found inside the car, were taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with major injuries.
