Jose Franco called police after finding the suitcase in an irrigation pond last month, 10 days after 8-year-old Sandra Cantu vanished.
Franco didn't open the suitcase, and says he found out Sandra's body was in it only when police made the grim announcement.
He says he'll use the money to help put his kids through college.
