New police chief named in S. San Francisco

Michael Massoni, who was born and raised in South San Francisco and graduated from south San Francisco High School, has been with the Police Department for 29 years and has served in a variety of positions, most recently as a captain, according to the department.

Massoni will replace Mark Raffaelli, who has served with the Police Department for 37 years, the last 15 as chief.
