Neil McCallum says he was on the beach near his home in Australia, when he saw a kangaroo jump into the water. The kangaroo was soon caught in a riptide. McCallum ran to his house and grabbed his surfboard and his wife grabbed the video camera.

She shot video as McCallum herded the panicked animal back to shore.

"I went wow it is a kangaroo that's just pretty incredible. And then, boom! Dives into the water and starts swimming out to sea," said Neil McCallum, rescuer.

The kangaroo appeared to be just fine after emerging from the water. Wildlife experts say marsupials are actually very good swimmers. This one just got in over his head.
