3.0 quake strikes near the Geysers

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.0 struck Monday morning in Sonoma County.

According to the USGS, the earthquake struck at about 4:40 a.m. and had a depth of 1.3 miles.

The quake was centered 2 miles northwest of the Geysers and 11 miles east of Cloverdale, according to the USGS.
