An organization called Job Connections sponsored the 2009 Northern California Career and Leadership Summit at the Community Presbyterian Church in Danville.

Job seekers had a chance to network with recruiters from about a dozen different employers.

"Five years from now you're going to read about people that have started work and set up new companies after being laid off in 2008 and 2009. It's happening right now. It's just going to take time to hear those stories," said Paul Kingsman with Focus Potential.

Job Connections holds weekly classes on resume writing, interviewing and other career-building skills in Danville.
