The incident occurred at about 10:35 p.m. in the unit block of North Pearl Street, according to police.
The incident began when two victims were walking and were approached by two suspects with handguns. One of the suspects held a gun to one of the victims and threatened to shoot him, police said.
The victim grabbed the gun, and during the struggle one round was fired that struck no one, according to police.
Both victims had their wallets stolen, but were not injured in the incident, police said.
