2.2 quake strikes near Danville

According to the USGS, the earthquake occurred at about 12:35 a.m. and had a depth of about 4.7 miles.

The quake was centered 1 mile east-northeast of Danville and 11 miles south-southeast of Concord.

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.5 also struck in nearly the same location on Monday afternoon. That quake struck at about 3:15 p.m., had a depth of 5.5 miles, and was centered 1 mile northeast of Danville and 10 miles south-southeast of Concord, according to the USGS.
