The shooting was reported at about 9:10 p.m. at 10420 McDougall St., according to the sheriff's office.
Arriving deputies found several people gathered around Manuel Busane, who had suffered several gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff's office.
Investigators determined that Busane had left his home and was walking on McDougall Street toward Sanchez Street when he was confronted by two people wearing black hooded sweatshirts who shot the victim, according to the sheriff's office.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and anyone with information is requested to contact the Monterey County Sheriff's Office at either (831) 755-2772 or (800) 833-4847.
