Rob Williams of KRXQ's "Rob, Arnie & Dawn" show said Thursday he did not intend to encourage the abuse of children or bullying of transgenders. Co-host Arnie States blamed his "ignorance" that name-calling would be hurtful.

On their May 28 show, Williams said transgenders are "abnormal" and "freaks" with a "mental disorder." States said he would hit his son with his shoe if he wanted to wear high heels. The third host, Dawn Rossi, defended transgender people on the show.

The hosts were off the air this week until Thursday.

Several companies pulled their advertising after the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation protested the remarks.
