Concord's Cowell smokestack demolished

Chunks of concrete have been falling off the 235-foot-tall Cowell smokestack for years, so the decision was made to tear it down. It's actually been out of use since 1946 when the Cowell Portland cement company shut down.

The smokestack's job at the time was to contain dust created in the process of making cement.
