At about 11:35 p.m., a 2002 Cadillac Escalade was stopped by the CHP for weaving in and out of traffic on southbound Highway 101 near Sierra Point Parkway, CHP Sgt. Amy Mulata said this morning.

The CHP contacted the driver, described as an Asian man who is in his 20s and was about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 210 pounds, Mulata said.

However, the suspect took off again on Highway 101, leading authorities on a pursuit that reached speeds of 120 mph, according to Mulata.

At about 11:40 p.m., the suspect got off the highway at San Bruno Avenue and headed west before trying to make a left turn onto Fifth Avenue in San Bruno, where he hit a parked vehicle that was pushed forward into another parked vehicle, Mulata said.

The suspect then got out of the Cadillac and fled south on foot on Fifth Avenue, she said.

The CHP set up a perimeter in the area, and requested air support and help from other law enforcement agencies, according to Mulata.

The suspect eluded arrest though because of what Mulata called a "very dense urban neighborhood" that enabled him to hide from authorities.

The Cadillac has not been reported stolen, but investigators are trying to get in touch with the female owner of the vehicle this morning to determine the connection between her and the male suspect, Mulata said.

A CHP officer sprained a knee during the search, but no other injuries were reported during the pursuit or search, according to Mulata. The two parked cars sustained damage, along with the Cadillac, she said.
