Police received multiple reports of gunfire in the 28000 block of Cole Place beginning at 12:44 a.m.

Responding officers found the two victims in front of a residence suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were transported to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, where one man died.

The second victim is expected to survive his injuries, Orrey said.

Police said neither of the victims had been positively identified as of this morning, but that both men appear to be in their 20s.
