The secretary of state's office received the official language for the new proposal from the attorney general's office Tuesday.

Proponents now have 150 days to collect signatures from 700,000 registered voters in order to qualify the measure for a vote next year.

Their initiative calls for the reinstatement of same-sex marriage, overturning /*Proposition 8*/ passed last year.
