San Francisco police were conducting an investigation and searching for evidence on the tracks by the 16th Street Mission station, causing BART to turn off power to the tracks at about 7:20 a.m., BART spokesman Linton Johnson said.

Trains were running through the area again at about 7:40 a.m. and BART trains were back on their regular schedule as of 9:45 a.m. after experiencing residual systemwide delays of about 20 minutes during the morning commute.
