Phoebe Russell definitely gets an A plus for this: she collected thousands of empty cans for recycling money in just a few weeks.

Phoebe raised $3,736, which she donated at her pre-school to the San Francisco Food Bank. Phoebe's parents even made a game out of crushing all of those cans.

"'Cause it was fun when we got cans and sometimes did can dancing," said Phoebe Russell

There are not many people your age not many people of any age that made this sort of contribution to help other people," said Paul Ash from the San Francisco Food Bank.

The money Phoebe donated will provide more than 17,000 meals to the food bank's clients.
