Maria Roldan was found safe in a motel room on the east side of the city around 3:40 p.m., police Sgt. Chris Lane said.

Roldan was taken from her home around 4:30 a.m., but she probably left willingly with 21-year-old Joventino Benegas, Lane said.

Police saw a green Daewoo sedan that resembled the description of the car Benegas might have used to abduct her and followed it to the motel, Lane said.

Benegas was not driving and the girl was not in the car, but police arrested the driver for other reasons, he said.

Benegas is still at large and believed to be the abductor. Lane could not say what kind of relationship the girl had with him.
